McLaren F1 LM

In late 1995, five McLaren F1 LM models were built in honor of the five McLaren F1 GTR which finished the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans, including taking the overall win. One prototype version was also built but was kept by Mclaren for testing, this was called the McLaren F1 XPLM. The other five versions were all song to the public. Two are owned by The Sultan of Brunei, one by Ralph Lauren who baught it from Frank Selldorff, one by Chris Palmer, which was used by many automobile testers, and also used by Top Gear for testing. The fifth is owned by a private collecter who is rumored to live in the United States. The engine that powers the McLaren F1 LM is a 6.1 L V12 handmade in the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, England, generating over 680hp (507kW).

The F1 LM is regarded to be the fastest incarnation of the McLaren F1 roadcars through the gears and in overall track performance. Although, it’s top speed was 15 mph (24 kph) slower than that of the McLaren F1, which had a top speed of 240 mph (386 kph). Here are some pictures of the car.
