Bizzarrini 5300 Spyder GT SI

Special article today on a relatively unheard of car from Italian supercar maker Bizzarrini. The Bizzarrini 5300 Spyder was first made in 1966. The prototype version was unvailed in late February at the 1966 Geneva Auto show. It was the “star of the show”. Two of these prototypes were made out of the total 342 Bizzarrini 5300’s that were made.

Both cars were owned by Bizzarrini founder Giotto Bizzarrini, who was the head designer for many car manufacturers, such as: Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Lamborghini, ATS, and ISO in the 1960’s. The first car was then sold to a car collector from Italy in 1969, whom still owns it today. The second car was put in ferrari storage, both with the stock tires. Both of these cars were in a silverish color, appropriately called, “Bizzarrini Silver”.

It had a Chevrolet Big Block V8 Engine that generated 224 bhp. The price tag on these cars were set at a little over £400000, (about $650,000). Combined, both cars only have about 2000 miles on them. Also, the “SI” in the name stands for Style Italia. Here are some pictures.
